Founder
Studio Iya was founded by multidisciplinary designer and artist Iya Akasheva, whose practice exists at the intersection of collectible design, sculpture, architecture, and conceptual art.
Her work is deeply personal. Every collection begins not with a form, but with lived experience—transforming moments of change, uncertainty, and reflection into physical objects that invite dialogue.
Having built her life across different countries, cultures, and creative disciplines, Iya's perspective has been shaped by continual transformation. Experiences of migration, adaptation, and reinvention have deeply influenced the way she understands resilience, belonging, and the spaces we inhabit.
These experiences form the conceptual foundation of Studio Iya, where every object becomes part of an ongoing exploration of transformation through material, craftsmanship, and design.
Driven by curiosity about the world we are collectively creating, her artistic practice investigates questions surrounding transformation, spirituality, ecology, technology, identity, and humanity's evolving relationship with nature. Rather than offering answers, each collection becomes a chapter in an ongoing artistic investigation.
Studio Iya creates collectible design that transforms global questions into enduring works of art.
