Every transformation begins with a question.
The next Studio Iya collection is currently in its research phase, where ideas, materials, and cultural narratives are carefully explored before becoming collectible objects.
CONCEPT
“Survivors” is a collection about resilience, adaptation and continuation.
Rooted in personal experiences of survival, migration, separation, loss, difficult relationships and uncertainty, the collection expands into a reflection on survival in nature.
Inspired by five insects known for their endurance, the works do not depict insects literally, but draw from eggs, cocoons and protective organs — forms that safeguard possibility.
Many pieces incorporate light within dark, cocoon-like structures. Light as inner life that persists even in the darkest environments.
Survivors asks “what remains after us?” and considers not only survival, but continuation. Carrying life forward, finding light in darkness, and beginning again.
